As long as I can remember we’ve never had rain on Veterans Day (I’m sure it has happened, but it’s very rare).  This year Maynard had a special ceremony to recognize the new Wall of Honor.  Formerly at the American Legion Hall (which is in the process of closing) it is now a permanent exhibit in the lower level of Town Hall and features the 46 portraits of those who were made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country.

Hosted by Ed Sokolowski, with speeches by Selectman David Gavin and State Rep. Kate Hogan the community thanked the veterans present (spanning from World War II through the present day) and paid homage to the 46 fallen.  Because of the inclement weather, everyone was packed into the Town Hall meeting space and out into the hallways.

So, if you know a veteran in your family or neighborhood, take some time today (or any day) to say “Thank You”.

Nice write up and photos from today’s ceremony Dave. Hope you don’t mind but I shared the link with the extended BSA Troop 130 family for those who werent able to be there. Thanks for doing this, it really is appreciated.
